RTC Configuration – SYSTEMD

The corresponding RTC module (DS1307) is automatically configured by the ID EEPROM and loaded into the kernel. Please follow these steps to use the RTC as the hardware clock:

1. Disable the fake-hwclock of the single-board computer, which can lead to complications with the RTC. To do this, use the following commands in the terminal:
sudo apt-get -y remove fake-hwclock
sudo update-rc.d -f fake-hwclock remove

2. After the fake-hwclock has been deactivated, the original hardware clock script should be adjusted accordingly. Edit the /lib/udev/hwclock-set file and comment out the following lines:
#if [ -e /run/systemd/system ] ; then
#exit 0
#fi

3. Now restart the system.
sudo reboot
Then check the correct system time and write it to the RTC
sudo hwclock -w
